For those who are hanging close to the news of c4eva's iXtreme firmware for a select few DVD burners, you can breathe a little (or not), as the official list of initially supported drives have been released. I'll give you a hint, they are all Liteon burners.
Supported Drives:
c4eva:
Liteon iHAS124B = baseline model
Liteon iHAS224B = 124 LightScribe
Liteon iHAS324B = 124 SmartErase
Liteon iHAS424B = 124 LightScribe SmartErase (or = 224 SmartErase)
Liteon iHAS524B = 124 LabelTag SmartErase
Liteon iHAS624B = 124 LabelTag LightScribe SmartErase (or = 524 LightScribe)
Have you lucked out and managed to have one of these burners? If so, you're ahead of the race. If not, get on it! You must get one with the B at the end since the A models have not been tested.
UPDATE (10/18/11): The model number is appended to the end of the drive's serial number. Also, the date of manufacturer will determine your drive chipset:
You are guaranteed a B chipset if the manufacturer date is between these two dates: September 6th 2010 - Present
You are guaranteed a A chipset if the manufacturer date is between these two dates: June 19th, 2009 - August 9th, 2010
You are guaranteed a Y chipset if the manufacturer date is between these two dates: September 7th, 2009 - ??June, 2009??
Thanks to foxyboy33.
As for the type of media to use, you'll need those Verbatims.
